Lake Illawarra
Located in the heart of the Shellharbour and Wollongong region. Described as a large coastal lagoon the lake is tidally affected with it's entrance at Windang on the coast.
On average the lake is only a couple of meters deep with great amounts of bird and sea life.
Shielded in the west by the Illawarra escarpment the lake is very picturesque and one of my favourite 'go-to' locations when the conditions are good.
