Stack Island by Moonlight...

Such a breathtaking view by day I wondered how it may look by night and in 2018 I took the chance to find out on a clear evening. With Bass Point in the distance and the glow from Port Kembla on the horizon, this made for a very enjoyable outing.

Milky Way over Jamberoo

One of the iconic views of the Illawarra during the day for some time I've imagined getting this image with the milky way above it. Early 2019 I had a first pass at it only to get home and find that the lookout was quite shaky in a strong wind which isn't really helpful to astro photography if the camera is moving. Tonight I had the opportunity to get back up there and take another 'shot' at it - with very chilly conditions and just the lightest of breezes conditions were just about perfect - only the low lying haze along the coast to catch the light from Shellharbour and surrounds. Technically speaking this is a vertical panorama comprised of 3 sets of 18 images blended then stitched with a final edit to polish it off.

Milking Time...

A chilly night out taking in the moonlight and farmland... These disused milking sheds are all over the Illawarra .. a sign of our changing times - progress for progress sake.
