One of the flukey things about getting older is that you're generally up for dawn whether you want to be or not.. to that end getting out with the gear is a great way to get into the day.

I haven't shot at Barrack Point for a bit and the numbers were looking hopeful for a bit of colour and drama today - in case your wondering what I mean by the numbers - Clearoutside.com is a website (and app) that is usually pretty  much spot on in indicating sky conditions .. actually it hasn't failed me to date.

I've had some luck at Barrack Point before  (here, here and here ), but today wasn't to be one of those days ... I was relieved to find some geometry that tickled my brain enough to sit on it and wait it out .. this was a typical 'unrise' as I call them - lots of potential for next time but nothing to write home about this time around.

  • In a moment...

A brief moment of colour on a cloudy morning at Barrack Point, Shellharbour

  • A final flare....

As the sun finally rose out of the cloud bank that seem's to be off the coast here most of the year these days...

  • On Golden Pond...

Extreme low tides are a bonus for finding some interesting rock pools along the coast.
